Why Now?

Every year, more than 10,000 newcomers make New Brunswick their home (Statistics Canada, 2024). Yet, unlike Canada’s larger provinces, few documentaries capture their voices and contributions. Crossing Borders aims to change that. By spotlighting these stories, we hope local audiences will connect deeply with the experiences, talents, and perspectives that enrich and strengthen our shared community.

Impact & Benefits

Have you ever wondered about the diverse backgrounds of your child’s classmates, colleagues, or neighbors, and how their skills, traditions, and perspectives quietly enhance both our workplaces and our wider community? As newcomers bring their talents and voices to New Brunswick, this documentary reminds us that thriving communities are built when we weave many experiences together into a shared future.

Crossing Borders is just the beginning. By engaging in these stories, we hope to inspire dialogue, empathy, and action, fostering a stronger, more connected New Brunswick community.
